Swimsuit Season
Summer is here and that means it’s also swimsuit season. Whether laying by a pool, swimming in a lake or surfing some waves, the right swimsuit is essential. As an old(er) curvy woman, I no longer wear bikinis. That’s a decision I made a few years ago and I proudly stand by it. However, I do love a good one-piece and since promising myself I’d never wear a two-piece again, I’m happy to have discovered some great ones.
Here are 8 of my favorite swimsuit brands for curvy(ier) women:
Onia Swimwear- I discovered this brand while shopping at Nordstrom Rack. I love their great styles and cute prints and the two swimsuits I purchased over three years ago have held up extremely well.
Nip/Tuck Swimwear- Another Nordstrom Rack discovery. I noticed a super cute polka-dot version of this one piece hanging on the clearance rack; $20! Tried it on and was so happy with the extremely flattering fit and comfortable support that I also bought another one in a different print on the same day. I bet the bikinis are flattering too!
J.Crew- J.Crew is always a great option for swimsuits. Their classic cuts and adorable prints are always on point and they recently expanded their size range to include extended sizes up to 3X and DD-cup styles.
Stylest- “Shop by solution” is offered on this website full of adorable options.
Nordstrom Rack- I always find interesting and flattering swimsuits at this store. They carry great extended size brands like Good American for a fraction of the price, plus you could also pick up some designer shades and coverups to complete your summer look while you’re there.
Summersault- Personally, I have not tried this brand, but while doing research for this blog post, the brand consistently came up. Their website is easy to navigate, the cuts flattering and they have excellent reviews.
Andie Swim- Again, I haven’t tried this brand but they carry a multitude of sizes and have amazing reviews. I love that, while shopping online, you can narrow your search based on your torso size, cup size, bottom coverage and color.
Cosabella- Known for their classy and quality lingerie, Cosabella also offers gorgeous swimwear. All styles are available in either ‘curvy’ or ‘regular’ sizing and their flatting cuts are available in gorgeous, vibrant colors. These swimsuits are classy and timeless.
