The annual Met Ball is my favorite fashion event of the year!
Every year, on the first Monday in May, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City becomes the center of the fashion world and hosts a celebration in honor of the newest exhibit. This year, the exhibition, “Karl Lagerfield: A Line of Beauty” celebrates the life and epic career of Karl Lagerfeld. Last nights’ event was a star studded affair and guests did not hold back when it came to dressing “to honor Karl,” as the invitation requested.
I love this event and each year, I watch as the most iconic models, actors and celebrities struggle up the Met steps in creative, interesting, exciting and often controversial outfits.
Kylie Jenner- I really try to avoid commenting on anything Kardashian/Jenner related, but I can not ignore this dress! Designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, there is NOTHING I do not like about this stunning gown. Every time I look at it, I’m pleasantly surprised by a newly discovered detail; weather it’s the vibrant color that isn’t quite red/isn’t quite orange, the silky blue lining, or those gorgeous ruffled cuffs, this dress is a show-stopper and I can NOT stop loving it!
Dua Lipa in Vintage Chanel-she looks like a modern day Cinderella. And I love the referance to this era of Chanel.
Jessica Chastain in Gucci- talk about D-R-A-M-A! This is what the Met Ball is all about! Fashion + Movie Stars + Drama! In my opinion, Jessica Chastain is a fashion force and this whole look is just further proof.
Rihanna in Valentino- How is that Rihanna hasn’t put out a new album in years, yet she’s everywhere? And always looking FABULOUS! I love the fashion risks that Rihanna takes and it’s always fun to see how she uses her pregnancy (ies) as an accessory.
Lilly Collins in Vera Wang- The perfect mix of naughty + nice. So elegant and so unique. I love this whole look.
Olivia Rodrigo in Thom Browne- She channeled Audrey Hepburn with the baby bangs and kept the look young, fresh and on-theme with black and white blooms.
Anne Hathaway in Versace- The perfect mix of Chanel + Versace that I didn’t even know we needed.
Kaitlyn Dever in Michael Kors- Red hot, classy and age appropriate; Beautiful!
