The Calendar Says it’s Fall
The calendar says that the first official day of Fall is September 24th.
When I lived in New York City, you could really feel this season approaching; the nights started to get cooler, the leaves on the trees changed colors and the time for layering and boots settled in.
I live in Texas, however, where, as I’m writing this, it is 90 degrees outside.
But 90 degrees isn’t 100 degrees and pumpkin spice everything is everywhere so I’m no longer wearing summer dresses. Instead, I’m pretending that it feels nice outside and that it’s cold enough to partake in the Fall trends I’ve highlighted below.

1.Tailoring-Especially blazers
Power suiting and power tailoring were major trends on the Fall 2023 runways. Partake in this trend that isn’t going anywhere by investing in a strong blazer. Pair it with jeans, a skirt or over a dress to update any item in your closet. A good blazer will always be in style and it’s versatility will make getting dressed, no matter what season, a breeze.
2. Maxi Skirts- Yes, the 90s are back.
Wear your maxi skirt, just like you would wear jeans. Dress them up with heels for work or pair your skirt with sneakers for a casual weekend outing.
3. Flats- Prepare to have happy feet.
Maryjanes and ballet flats ruled the runways but the loafer and flat boot are still in style.
4. Red- Add a little pop of color or go full throttle with the brightest color of the season.
5. (Knee-High) Boots - One of the best things about Fall.
6. Off the Shoulder- If you need further proof that the 90s are back.
7. Denim- It never goes out of style, actually.
8. Cozy Sweaters- Of course!
Cardigans are especially on trend this season.
